Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how VisitSoccer ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our directory websites, including visit.soccer and its city editions such as montreal.soccer.
We aim to be straightforward about data. If something is unclear, email us at support@visitsoccer.com and we will get back to you.
Your privacy choices
You can accept, reject, or fine-tune our use of cookies at any time — withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. Click here, or use the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of every page, to reopen the consent banner and change your choice. Analytics and advertising cookies are set to denied by default everywhere in the world — we never fire them until you affirmatively opt in.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Newsletter signup: your email address, the source of the signup (footer, popup, etc.) and the language you were browsing in.
- Contact form: your name, email address, the subject, and the message you send us.
- Account: if you sign up for an account, we collect your email address and any optional profile data you provide (handled by our auth provider, Supabase).
Information we collect automatically
- Server logs: IP address, user agent, timestamp and the URL you accessed. Used for security, abuse prevention and basic operational analytics. Retained for up to 30 days.
- Cookies and local storage: small pieces of data we store in your browser to remember preferences (language, theme), keep you signed in, or — with your consent — measure how the site is used. See our Cookie Policy.
How we use information
- To send the newsletter, if you subscribe.
- To respond to your contact-form messages.
- To run and secure the site (rate limiting, bot detection).
- To measure product usage through Google Analytics 4 — only if you consent under the "Analytics" category.
- To measure advertising performance — only if you consent under the "Advertisement" category.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. Under California law (CCPA / CPRA), certain uses of cross-context behavioral advertising cookies count as "sharing" even without exchange of money. You can opt out of that sharing at any time via .
How we share information
We share data only with the service providers we need to run the product:
- Supabase — account authentication and storage.
- Resend — transactional and newsletter email delivery.
- Cloudflare — CDN, DNS, and Turnstile bot protection.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Google (LLC) — Analytics 4, Ads Conversion and Maps Embed, only after you consent to the relevant category.
Each provider has its own privacy practices. We select vendors that treat user data responsibly; review their policies for full detail. Our consent-management is self-hosted — the consent cookie is set by us directly and not shared with any third party.
California residents — CCPA / CPRA rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the following rights, at no cost to you:
- Right to know what categories of personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share.
- Right to access and portability — request a copy of your personal information.
- Right to delete personal information we hold about you.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising — exercise via .
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information (we do not knowingly process sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA).
- Right of non-discrimination — we will not deny service or charge different prices because you exercised a privacy right.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@visitsoccer.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will acknowledge within 10 business days and respond within 45 days (extendable once by another 45 days).
California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA)
The California Invasion of Privacy Act requires prior consent before any party may intercept or record a "communication in transit" — a category that some courts have applied to analytics and advertising tracking on websites. In line with that requirement, VisitSoccer keeps all non-essential cookies and third-party trackers disabled by default and only enables them after you affirmatively opt in via the consent banner.
EU / UK / Swiss visitors — GDPR
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases: consent (for analytics, advertising, and marketing cookies); performance of a contract (for account features you request); legitimate interest (for security, abuse-prevention, and basic operational metrics); and legal obligation (where applicable). You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
Data retention
- Newsletter subscriptions — until you unsubscribe.
- Contact-form messages — up to 24 months.
- Account data — while your account is active; deleted on request.
- Analytics data (GA4) — 14 months.
- Consent logs — up to 5 years for legal-compliance evidence.
- Server access logs — up to 30 days.
Children
VisitSoccer is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our infrastructure is hosted primarily in the United States. If you are accessing the site from outside the U.S., your data will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses to safeguard those transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify users by email or via a notice on the site.
